One way to seen the North Shore is from
the water in a kayak. The Lake Superior Water Trail has been
developed primarily for sea kayakers and is intended to circumnavigate
Lake Superior's coast. The Minnesota portion will eventually
extend from Duluth to the Canadian border. If you are a beginner
or needing to rent, Cascade Kayaks can set you up. (1-800-720-2809)
or www.cascadekayaks.com. If you are a guest at Bluefin Bay
Resort, they offer instructions. Contact the Front Desk @
1-800-Bluefin. Superior Coastal Sports offers kayaking tours;
www.superiorcoastal.com or Superior Trails in Tofte also does
